Nyepi Festival 2013
"This year's Nyepi Festival on March 11 and 12, 2013 was fantastic and thousands of people (local and visitor) flocked to the streets all over Bali to compete in the always eagerly awaited, annual 'Ogoh-Ogoh' ritual and parade held in every town and hamlet across the 'Island of the Gods' on the eve of Nyepi - Pengerupukan!
For the first (but certainly not last) time GMIS entered our very own 3.5 metre tall monster 'Kala Bang' or Red Demon into the big parade in Mertasari Beach, Sanur......and we won 2nd Place in Best Newcomer Category.
The idea came from the Ogoh Competition winning design of Ms. Tia Gumolia (Grade 7), voted in by all the students at our Annual CAS Carnival Celebration! Great stuff Tia and we look forward to what the next year's designs will be. A big Thank You to all the students who participated in the parade and to the teachers who came and supported this fabulous event".
